There are a number of hair and beauty places in Luanda – so we decided to list just those recommended by members. If you have any other suggestions, please let us know!
1.Onyx Hair and Day Salon
Above small Casa Des Fresco (spiral staircase around the back) near LIS and the Talatona Kero. Tel. 917 032 545
This Onyx salon stocks Kerastase Hair products and is run by South Africans who speak English. They will happily book you in for any hair or beauty treatment, although note the manicure and pedicure stations are particularly busy on Fridays and Saturdays. A haircut drastically goes up in price if you opt to get the pre-wash hair conditioning treatment and blow dry afterwards.
Andrea is a Portuguese English speaking hairdresser.
Angela says – just back from a great waxing experience at Onxy with Vivianne (or Vivi). I would recommend her she is very professional, knows exactly how to make it as painless as possible and does a very fast job.
Our tip – always ask for the price of your treatment beforehand so you know the price upfront.
- Bio Clinic within Belas Business Park
Go into the business park – and look for the building Benguela. If you go into this building, on the RHS of the ground floor, you will find Bio Clinic – where you can have both hair and beauty treatments. Tel. 925534778.
Rosa and Elisa are Portuguese English speaking hairdressers and always well booked up with expats. Prices are reasonable for women, men and children.
1. Bamboo is the favourite in town, used by expats for manicures and pedicures. We recommend you make an appointment and ensure you know the price of the treatment upfront.
Bamboo Imperial – Beauty salon, Rua General Rocadas 43, Tel: 923 962 508/ 222 394716
(Just past the Esso apartment on the road above Elf’s Palanca apartments/shop)
2. Deana Day Spa next to Torres Atlantico has newly re-opened and is recommended for manicures, pedicures etc. They also have a hair salon, using Loreal products, prices are ok.
Avenue 4 de Fevereiro, Luanda, 222 331 003
