Schools and pre-schools

Whilst the availability of international schools in Luanda has remained static for the past few years – the availability of nursery and pre-school education has grown considerably.  We advise you strongly to visit all of the establishments that you are interested in – and make your own decisions.  We have some experience of these establishments but it would be wrong to give an opinion.

Regarding pre-school education, this is often delivered in Portuguese.  Whilst that may seem like a challenge to an English speaking family, many find that this is a real benefit to the children.  Regarding 5-18 education – be warned.  Schools here have long waiting lists.  Make sure you’re really clear of what is available to you before you arrive in country – and also what is required of you for entry. Some schools for example have vaccination requirements that you must comply with – so do ask as many questions as you can to understand your entry requirements.
