Friday November 3rd 5.30pm onwards – Pub Grub @Club Naval –

Always very popular – open to everyone. Bring your friends and family. Just turn up at Club Navale (right at the start of the Ilha), any time from 5.30pm to enjoy a drink with other members and maybe stay for supper afterwards – lots of us do. A very good way to miss the Friday night traffic. Bring the children if you’d like to. No need to book. We’ll have done that for you.

The British Ambassador, HE Mr John Dennis, will host a commemoration of Remembrance Day at his Residence, The British Embassy, Rua 17 de Setembro No. 4, on Sunday 12 November at 1030 for an 1100 start. We will remember British and Commonwealth servicemen and women who have lost their lives in the service of their countries from the First World War up to modern times.

Poppies will be available on the day and a collection made for The Royal British Legion.

We very much hope that you will join us for the event. It will be held outdoors on the Residence terrace and is likely to be very warm, so the dress code will be shirt and tie / summer dress. Children aged 12 and over will be most welcome. A drink will be served afterwards.

If you wish to attend please e-mail your names and car registration details to luisa.kelly@fco.gov.uk by Wednesday 8 November.

Get into the Christmas spirit a month early with traditional Christmas carols to sing, drinks to keep you in good voice and Christmas snacks to keep you going.

There will be a little choir to help make all the singing even more fabulous. If anyone would like to join this do get in touch on the above email address – we are especially short of sopranos. You don’t even have to be an LBW member!

To keep numbers manageable we limit this event to LBW members and their families and house-guests.

However, if you know anyone who isn’t a member but would like to come, they can always join the LBW. The subscription is Kz 2,500 for the whole family until the AGM in March. Thereafter membership is Kz 5,000 annually.
